For some reason I can't explain...

 It's been quite a long time since I've done a proper blog entry which is mainly because I have been very busy trying to hand in my assignments in time without accidentally bursting into flames.

Okay to be quite honest, I'm not really sure what to blog about recently because my life has so far been currently filled with college stuff and tumblr posts. So nothing much has changed. Still got no boyfriend, still an okay social life, still ain't pretty *shrugs*. But whatever, I'm going to do my best to continue blogging on since I've kept this site for almost 6 years now.

Alright, so for a little update:
1. I have just completed my finals for my first semester  but as always it didn't really end as well as I hoped it would. But in good news, there were no signs of creeping panic attacks so therefore I did not go into an emotional breakdown during the exams. So new achievement unlocked! (yay!)
2. I (nearly) finished all of my assignments (except for that annoying one) for the subjects I took this year so I now have a basic idea of the stress I am going to expect next year. Let's just hope that the stress slightly lessens by then since I already took the taxing core English subject (But I suspect it'll be more or less the same since I registered for a social science class for next year).
3. My semester break has technically begun like 2 days ago [So here I am].

    So I think that's the latest of what I've been up to so far really, nothing much. I'm so glad that I finally got a semester break because, seriously I just cannot take another series of assignments and tests as of right now. I'm looking to spend the first few weeks of my break with a little bit of rest (which is why I'm going for a 4-day trip to Bali sometime next week) and I'm hoping to spend the rest of the days starting up on some community service hours since I haven't really started on it (f.y.i, as a student of the Canadian Pre-University programme, I am required to do at least 10 hours of community service in order to graduate). Yup, I think that's about the only things I have planned really, maybe I'll fit in a few university sightings and lonely shopping in there. The only mentionable worthy activity I've done so far is go to the Big Bad Wolf annual book sale;
for those of you who don't know, The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale (a.k.a Big Bad Wolf or BBW) is an annual book mega sale that is usually held by the end of the year.

   This was my first year going there and lucky enough I was able to go there twice. It was very thrilling going there since the books were hella cheap and were pretty new.

    Okay, so I'm pretty tired right now so I am going to stop the post right here. I'm planning to do a BBW book haul post soon so keep a watch on that (lol, again; like anybody reads this blog, especially now). I'll try to update as much as I can on my Blogspot while I'm on my vacation. ;)
BYEEEEEEEEE......

College.... (the real deal)

 So I haven't really been blogging for a while mainly because of well, college and I don't really have much to blog about. So the last post I realised I didn't really give a full basic description of my life in "senior high school" or pre-university.  So I'll give you a quick run down, I'm doing Taylor's Canadian Pre-U program which spans for about a year. I started in the middle of July and would most likely finish my course by the end of June. I have to take 6 subjects in total minus the MOE core subjects (Malaysian studies and Islamic studies). It's a lot of work because it's a pretty packed course so I've been super exhausted and burned out a lot lately. The 3 subjects I'm currently taking are:

- ENG4U~ This is probably the only core subject everyone has to take in order to graduate so majority choose to take it within the first semester just so they could get it out of the way. My teacher's name is Ms. Aalia Sheriff and she's Indian-Canadian and I'll be damned ain't she the cutest with her pixie hair cut and sophisticated Canadian accent. She's really nice and teaches very well overall. But the work for the subject I'd say is the most out of the 3 subjects I'm currently taking because there's a lot of literary thesis stuff I have to do.

-Chemistry~ First of all, I'm taking Chem as a safety net subject because I plan to do something related to bioscience and I'm sure many universities are going to make that subject a must before I get to enter. Mr. Khaled or Mr. Khal teaches me Chem and I'm just gonna throw out the usual he's nice and teaches very well crap because it's true.But at times it can be a bit boring because we don't do a lot in his class except for staring at his slides as he explains the topic. This is the subject that I really have to study on my own because I can lose focus while inside the class at times and Mr. Khal doesn't really teach the entire content of the topic. He was formerly from Palestine but had to move to Canada due to the war. He probably has the thickest Canadian accent so far out of all the three which is kind of weird in a way. He's probably the most lenient with school work which is good but at the same time really bad because he gives high priority towards our chapter tests when determining our averages and sadly, I'm not doing so well in that department :-/

-Advanced Functions/ Pre-calculus~ Surprisingly I'm doing pretty well in this class which is a first because I've never really done well in a math class. I'm not the best but I would say I'm pretty decent. This class also rests highly on chapter tests which is like >:( , but I'm thankful that I've been able to understand the classes so far. My teacher's name is Mr. Samiee and he's new to the Taylor's CPU scene. Prior to this he's been to a bunch of different places all around the world so it's kind of hard trying to pin point where he's exactly from but I suspect he's Turkish.

Apart from that I have blended learning Mondays where there wouldn't be any structured learning on that day but students are assigned with work and are required to meet with the teacher on that day but without any specific time frame. I also have to do 10 hours of community service and to help, the school would provide some programs to help us out. I have yet to do any community service as I am a lazy bum :P

  Well I guess that's a gist of my current pre-u life that is at times exhausting but I try to enjoy as much as I can. It's pretty different when compared to my old school life but I much prefer this more, sure it can be a bit lonely at times since I don't really have "hang out friends" but sometimes I guess you got to sacrifice a little to have a good education.

college......

 Please forgive me for not have been updating my blog for such a long time. As you can tell by the title, I've already started college ( already 4 weeks in) and as many people have said before me, it's a lot of work. Like holy crap, I've never been so exhausted in my life. I've also realised that all thic college stuff has been taking a toll on my face (look at the picture for reference). I had my first panic attack yesterday at college mainly because I had a chapter test for chemistry and I felt that I didn't study enough. I thought it would still be okay because the worst that could happen is that I do badly on that test and all I have to do is attend extra classes but a certain near car accident on my way to college really did it for me. I parked my car and  tears just burst out of my eyes like it was fireworks during raya. I washed my face and tried to keep a hold on myself but I really couldn't so like always I told people I wasn't feeling so well. Then it came.................. the purge........................................ In the midst of class, I felt something weird in my mouth so I ran into the wash room and everything just came out; my food, my emotions, my tears, (and a partial of my dignity) etc. I wasn't sure that if I was just so god damn nervous at the time so I was really panicking by then. Good ol' Maisarah gave me some panadol to sort of ease my tensions so I was okay for a good while. Until about the midst of my break that I felt my body being all weird and sensitive that I decided to go home. I took a nap and felt my body warming up so my mum brought me to the doctors. Apparently I got the stomach flu which explains all the excrement of nutrients through my mouth earlier. Lol, sorry for the graphic details :3
   So you can tell by now I'm not doing so well but I'm doing my best to get by and thankfully I've already made a few friends in my classes so it's getting better everyday. Now will you excuse me, I have some homework to do.........

La Da Di Da Di...

Damn, it sure was quite hell of the day yesterday......... if you were internet deprived since yesterday let me give you a low down on what happened:
   The case behind the shooting and eventual murder of Trayvon Martin was brought to court yesterday, and the man responsible for it (28 year-old Hispanic American George Zimmerman) was found not guilty. Okay, let me rewind this from the start,  George Zimmerman was in his vehicle running an errand when he saw 17 year old Trayvon Martin walking beyond the gated fence inside the neigbourhood looking seemingly suspicious. He (George) decided to call 911 to report on what he's seen. He leaves his car while still talking to the police and after he ended the call, he proceeded to confront Trayvon and one thing led to another, he shot him in the chest which led to Trayvon's death. I think the reason why there are so much controversy behind this is because at the time Trayvon was shot, he himself was unarmed and was still an adolescent which is eventually led to believe the reason why George Zimmerman did what he did was out of suspicion  and racial profiling alone. My opinions are gonna remain neutral for now as I believe there is more to this case that needs to be further investigated. Of course there is more to this case then what I have wrote here which can lead to my opinion  being further debated but I'm just gonna leave it at that as I feel I am not entitled to pick a side in this case.
Trayvon Martin (left), George Zimmerman (right)
   The next thing I'm going to talk about is the sudden death of actor Cory Monteith. As you all know, Cory Monteith was famous for the role of Finn Hudson on Glee and was admired and looked up to by a lot of kids my age and to be quite honest I'm pretty upset over this. Although I don't really watch Glee as much I got to say he played quite a pivotal role during my early teenage years.
    Tons of people have been speculating that he overdosed seeing it fitting because he was very open about his past drug addiction and just this past April he had successfully left rehab and people who had talked to him just days before his demise he appeared happy and determined.Of course to anyone who reads this are just gonna assume he was just some other young Hollywood star who died the typical Hollywood drug death but the thing is, we're not even sure if he really OD-ed and even if he did, it would even be just more upsetting because he seemed to be one of those people who genuinely was earnest and selfless in getting help and reaching out to people (to kids especially). So yeah, as you can tell this has nothing to do with the show or his character but him as a person. I found this text post on tumblr which pretty much describes how I feel about his death;
sebastiansmythe:

the fact that cory was such a genuinely good person and was actively trying to get better is even worse like not just that he was famous and important but that he was talented and humble and actually deserved the good things that he got and none of the bad things
sebastiansmythe: the fact that cory was such a genuinely good person and was actively trying to get better is even worse like not just that he was famous and important but that he was talented and humble and actually deserved the good things that he got and none of the bad things i’m just really really upset about it

   But his tragic death shouldn't in any way overshadow his work but more importantly his kindness and warmth with people!
Cory Monteith.......thanks for the memories! You've done so much and influenced so many.
 P.S
Sorry for the weirdly serious post. I just thought I had to bring it up.

Shopping Haul!!!!!!

Get ready for some materialistic Aida coming your way because this will be my very first Shopping Haul Post!!!!!
  Okay so a few days back my mum and I went shopping at one of our most favourite places on earth (Setia City Mall) so we could start impressing people with our amazing fashion sense by puasa time. Safe to say I made quite a bargain with these purchases due to the splendid sales they were having at the stores I went to;

aqua Zara basic blouse for RM49.90
So firstly I went to Zara (because my mum wanted to go there first) and this cute little aqua blouse caught my eye. I liked it mainly because of the colour and the fact that it has a little bit of mesh at the top.

White sleeveless studded blouse from H&M for RM59.90
 I then proceeded to H&M and got this blouse. But then I went to the back of the store and hit the jackpot.
                          Found this cutey patootey maroon and black shirt/peplum blouse, for how much you say?
That's right, got it for RM 15

           But I couldn't just stop there for then I decided to get this shirt;

P.S The main reason I was just simply buying tops was because I was looking for something to match this skirt I haven't really worn in like ages;

 Okay, so then I went to Uniqlo to find myself a simple maxi dress to wear at home and got this;

blue maxi dress from Uniqlo for RM 39.90

I guess that's the end of my little Shopping Haul blog post you guys.
But seriously, I'm kind of lacking of ideas for blog posts right now so please forgive me if this post seemed a little weirdly narcissistic and irrelevant.....

more driving experiences....

     So I've had my fair share of driving experiences which haven't been really that great so far and today was just one of them. My dad came home late evening asking me if I wanted to test my night driving skills and with hesitation I said yes just so I could get enough experiences before I drive off to college. He then told me that he has to go pick up his other car at the workshop which was why he asked me in the first place.
     So we headed to the workshop to pick up his car. My dad then said "okay, off you go then..." wwwhhaaattt????? I didn't know I had to drive this thing back home all by myself!!!!! But I did and it was scary, I ran one stop sign and nearly scratched a neighbour's car on the way home but alhamdulillah the car and I was safe. The funny part was it felt strangely high paced driving that car since the gas pedal felt too smooth to push and One Direction's One Way or Another was playing on the radio....
A picture of the car once I tried to unsuccessfully park it into the driveway...at least I parked it....

Summer time....

I've decided to start taking random photos of things I find amusing or "cool" on those days when I have no idea what to blog about...... Like this bag I've been using a lot lately that I bought from Mecca! I know the last thing that I should be doing in Mecca is going shopping and indulging myself in the most materialistic things but I couldn't resist this bag ever since I saw it at the shop (it was Accesorize by Monsoon) and in my defense I was probably the least materialistic and shopping crazy person within my Umrah group at the time.

30 day snap #30

I love me some pussycat dolls
   LOL, so much for wanting to make such a celebratory ending to the 30 day snap challenge. May I remind you that the ipod had nothing to at all to do with the events going on today, it was just to signify the ending of it.

   So today was just one of those horrible days that just ruined me in all body and soul. It started out good with me driving to my aunt's house with my mum. As usual my mum wanted to go there so she could get a massage (don't ask...). Since I had nothing else to do there I hanged out with the millions of cats that my aunt owns in this special room she has just for them. Thus the never ending allergy sneeze fest begun (because I'm technically allergic to cats you see). But despite the sneezes, I powered through (or I tried to power through) because I just can't help myself when I am with a bunch of cute puffy Persians...............
  Then, plot twist! I start to feel giddy and sick and ran to the washroom where I proceeded to vomit out my breakfast and whatever was left in my digestive system.... I thought that was the end of it, but no my body decided to surprise me again by making me purge out 3 more times when we reached home...... uggh..... It felt sickening. I couldn't really eat much which frustrated me even more because I was ready to take advantage my mum's free time to go eat outside.
  In the end I took a pill for vomiting and took a nap until dinnertime, even then I still had problem eating! (I take my meals and food very seriously). Now I'm here typing out this post to you while listening to nostalgic songs from the 2000's

30 day snap #29

I really need to stop procrastinating. .... back to the topic, yesterday I had some high quality ribs at this place in kl called las vacas mainly because my dad got rm200 worth of vouchers. The food there was cooked wonderfully to the point that I got a bit scared trying to approach them once it reached  our table.....

30 day snap #28

A photo of my cupcake recipe book I bought sometime ago.
Sorry for the late post again hehe......

   I've been finding myself pretty fond of cupcakes lately. Like anything related to the little cake I'm interested... For real. For instance did you guys know the first mention of the cupcake can be traced as far back to 1796? Who knew right? *nervous laughs*

   I guess I can trace my sudden interest in them thanks to Cupcake Wars. I mean have you seen that show lately? Nothing gets me on my toes then a fast paced cupcake baking show;

30 day snap #27

 Can you believe that the 30 day snap challenge is ending so soon? 3 days left and it's all over. Maybe I'm gonna try to do something big on the last day but for now I'm just gonna keep on taking pictures.
  So today my dad brought back his old Olympus dSLR camera for me to learn how to use. He's given me at least a few weeks to learn and at the end of those few weeks I have to show him pictures that I took with that particular camera and he will be the judge to see if I am worthy enough to permanently keep it. -_- (it's not like he needs to use it anymore).....
  It's a big chunk of difficulty I can tell you that. This is an old dSLR so no new high tech shit that will help make this learning process any easier.... *sigh*

30 day snap #26

So yesterday my lovely maid returned from Indonesia after her long well deserved break and immediately she got to work and as you can see, my desk is now not as messy as before which I'm grateful for! :D

30 day snap #25

   Occasionally my dad would come around and spoil my mum with some kind of high end accessory be it a piece of jewellery or a pair of nice shoes. So today happened to be one of those occasional moments and happily for my mum she got a brand new Coach leather handbag to match her new Calvin Klein flats she bought at the Designer Shoe Warehouse in the US.  My dad decided to go all the way as to order that bag especially just so it could match those particular shoes.
   So to celebrate the occasion my mum made me take my special big girl camera and take photos of it with the shoes. To be quite honest I was pretty thrilled to do it because It'll sort of be like doing one of those fashion and accessory shoots I see on Tumblr all the time.
  I took a bunch of photos and edited the ones I liked (by edited I meant playing around with the hipster filters on ipiccy.com)

30 day snap #22

I sort of missed out 30 day snap #21 yesterday mainly because I fell asleep early and sort of forgottento do it... I'll find a way to make it up
As for today, it was pretty eventful! I signed up for college today at taylor's and met up with an old schoolmate. After that my mum and I went to subang parade and ate cheese fries and chicken fillets and bought more food! We both brought that food to malacca and visited my brother. We went back, showered and got to my aunt's house (which I drove  there myself) so my mum could get her urut on while I hung out with my cousin watching Running Man together. My mum finished her massage around 1am and I drove us back, so here I am! Pooped and not really looking forward to do anything....

30 day snap #18

  This isn't exactly the part of the conversation Athira agreed to let me show but I thought it was the most appropriate and endearing we had so far.
   Basically she and I have been chatting through Whatsapp just to keep update on each others lives and banter about the most trivial things because we're proper adults like that you see...... She's been doing good so far still adjusting to college life and trying to make her place but I'm sure she'll get there. It's kind of sad I can't really meet with her in person anymore since she's all the way in Sarawak and I'm here in little old Selangor :-/ Aqilah! We need to go out soon because I'm bored as hell at home right now and I'm dying to do some retail therapy!!!!

Journey To San Fran!

gotta love my mum

nothing says creepy like taking photos of strangers inside a train

Just my boots and I on our way to an adventure

 So I decided to continue with my US adventures blog posts mainly because Aqilah's doing one on her trip to Japan and I can't exactly sleep right now.
   One of the things that I keep hearing from tourists about the US is that San Francisco is one of the nicest place to go to because of a few things; great public transport, nice people and of course the clothing stores that go on for miles. So as appreciators of nice people and clothing stores, we decided to take on this opportunity. We decided to take the Amtrak train instead of the usual flying so we could enjoy the view of the countryside that everyone on the internet has been raving about and let me tell you they weren't wrong! Greens and mountains everywhere like ermahgerr!!!! I couldn't help myself but feel all day dreamy and such! We arrived at San Fran at about 11:00pm at night and were pretty exhausted from the whole traveling.

I guess that's the end of part one!

30 day snap #17

mmhmm... nothing beats food pictures like oh yeah!
    So like usual I didn't do much today except  lying around on my bed messing with my phone......

       Since my dad won't be coming back from his golf game vacation in Jakarta until Wednesday, my mum and I decided to take this opportunity to go eat at places my dear old father would have never agreed to. Tonight, we had our dinner at S Kitchen at the First Subang mall which is also where my mum's office is at. I have been to the restaurant a few times before so I was pretty familiar with the place which serves mostly pasta and steaks. But the thing I usually look forward to is their creme brulee, which is to die for! The crisp slightly bitter burnt sugar on the top and the cool smooth creme at the bottom *drools* uuggh, I can't stop thinking about it!!!!!
      I also enjoyed the fact that I was able to enjoy dinner only with my mum because I don't have to exactly share her with my other siblings hehehehehehe.......

Blog view stats

Is there like a way to confirm the legitimacy of my blog view stats because I swear the majority of the views I get are most probably from myself when I'm feeling incredibly bored and somewhat narcissistic.

30 day snap #16/ Father's day cliche

    Happy Father's Day to my one and only father! Today we decided to celebrate by having moi drive all the way to Raju's at Petaling Jaya and join my aunt, cousin and grandparents at eating what use to be good roti canai (such a shame).  But the quality of the fried sotong remained so it wasn't all that bad.
     The journey to the restaurant was a nerve shattering one, we each almost went into cardiac arrest during the drive, LOL! In my defense, I was driving my dad's car where the windscreen wipers and signal lights were all over the place and the vehicle in general was generally large.............
   Anywho, I hope my dad is enjoying his little golf trip in Jakarta right now and returns safely back home this Wednesday!

30 day snap challenge #14

      OMG!!!! Yes!!! Yes!!! Yess!!!!!! Oh my god I am so thankful right now!!!! Thank you Allah for answering my feverish prayers!!!!! OOOOOHHHH My GAWD~~ I am a happy bitch right now!!!!!!!
     I was so nervous for my retake this morning I literally went numb for quite a while. All the JPJ invigilators took their time to prepare themselves this morning which made me even more nervous since I was calon no. 3 for the test. I was also made aware that they would usually let the re-takers go first and since there were only 10 of us (for the jalanraya) this morning I became kind of scared. Especially since this time my invigilator was a woman. As you all know, the female JPJ invigilators get quite the reputation for being the more strict and feisty ones. But thank god this one was in a very good mood because I think I wouldn't have made it to the end of my route if she wasn't as happy as she was with me today. Everything went fine except when I was trying to get to the next lanes I was pretty slow so the lady marah me a little but I got her drift so it was cool. The best part was she was the kind of invigilator I could cerita-cerita with so I was happy with that.
   You have no idea how happy I am right now!!!! All the work I've put into perfecting my driving has not gone to waste (I hope) and the people around me were so helpful which I am truly grateful for. Let's just hope I can start driving in public without troubling anyone on the road anymore since I am no longer a driver with a learner's permit. I would also like to add that my lesen L would've expired tomorrow so if I didn't pass my test today I would have been in deep trouble by now, so again THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!

30 day snap #12 |the book hoarder

Hello, my name is Aida Anis and as you can see from this picture and the last post I made about my bookshelf, I have gone past the "like to read as a fun and intellectual hobby" phase and have gone to the other side (actually I've been on the other side for a really long time but I didn't want to admit it until now)....that's right! I am a book hoarder!!! God save us all e____e I bought the 2nd book to the game of thrones series last week and just bought the LOTR+the hobbit combo set today... all a while I still have not finished the first book to the game of thrones.... seven hells......that is all I could say....
P.S
I mean, how can you  leave a book store without a newly purchased book in your hand?  Like come on!!!

Birthday wish!

It would be really nice to own the Samsung Galaxy Camera in this lovely colour but sadly they don't sell it like this here. I'm gonna have to make my way to Korea to obtain it then! Aqilah?

30 day snap #11

 Stumbled upon my cats randomly lying around in my parents' room like they just dropped out of the sky and decided to stay that way. There was also good lighting so I decided to capture the moment before it was too late.........LOL, I guess that's it then. In other news, Athira and I have been texting to each other a lot lately since she just started college in Sarawak and all. Poor little lady, she had to skip all her classes on the first day because she had trouble finding the lecture halls but I can assure you she's doing much better today. Achtung Athira! Achtung!

30 day snap #10

                             To go or not to go....that is the question!!!!!! Aqilah, wanna come?
